Seat Belts for Forklift

Forklift Seat Belts - This guideline purpose is to describe the Regulation requirements for the utilization of driver restraints or seatbelts on forklifts. It is the employers' responsibility to be able to make sure that every machinery, piece of equipment and tool within the workplace is selected and used properly and operated according to the manufacturer's directions.

Rough Terrain forklifts need to meet the regulations of ANSI Standard ASME B56.6-1992 with regards to their design, maintenance, inspection, fabrication and use.

An operator restraint device, enclosure or system is intended in order to help the operator in lowering the danger of entrapment of the head and/or torso between the truck and the ground in the event of a tip over. The restraint device or system could consist of a seat belt, though a seat belt is not essentially a part of such machine or system.
